Stationary Food Truck
What?
It all started when Chef John decided to take his cooking off the beaten path—literally.
Back in 2019, Chef Jonas Huber took his love of cooking on the road to bring delicious, homemade eats to Central Alberta. He hit the summer market circuit in Red Deer, Lacombe, and Sylvan Lake, quickly building a local following.
But just as things were heating up in 2020, the pandemic threw a wrench in the plans. With events canceled and uncertainty everywhere, Jonas pivoted. Thanks to a creative idea from his friend and neighbour Jac, he parked the food truck at the farm and opened right there.
That bold move turned out to be a game-changer.
Shackehlicious became a stationary food truck just east of Red Deer on Highway 808. Word spread fast about the delicious burgers, fresh ingredients, and relaxed, country atmosphere. Over the next few seasons, we added a covered eating space (which moonlights as a dance floor!), mini-golf, and outdoor games — turning a simple food stop into a full-on family outing.
After four amazing years, Shackehlicious found its forever home on our own acreage along Range Road 273, just south of Red Deer.
New season, new location — same great food truck vibes!
Chef Jonas was born in Switzerland and raised on a farm near Rimbey, Alberta. Inspired by his mom’s cooking, he knew from an early age that the kitchen was where he belonged. After high school, he went back to Switzerland to train as a Red Seal Chef, then gained experience around the world — from fine dining in France to tech kitchens at Google Zurich to bustling restaurants in Sydney.
In 2015, Jonas returned to Alberta for good. He built a tiny house (yep, from scratch), launched Shackehlicious, and never looked back. What started as crêpes and salads quickly evolved into handcrafted burgers, milkshakes, and a menu full of locally-sourced goodness. Mornings are spent in the garden, growing everything from strawberries to fresh herbs that end up right on your plate.

Meet Sommelier Marli
Marli Hadden is a born-and-raised Albertan with a big love for wine, food, and the land. After working at a winery during university, she dove into the wine world — studying, serving, and eventually becoming a WSET Level 3 certified sommelier. Her journey took her from Calgary to Niagara and across Europe’s wine regions, but her heart brought her back to Alberta.
In 2022, Marli and Jonas met at a friend’s party, clicked instantly, and soon realized they had something special — both personally and professionally. Now, they’re building something beautiful together: a food truck destination that’s as much about connection and community as it is about amazing eats.
